Pocahontas NEVER married John Smith, but JOHN ROLFE. It seens like when native americans are portrayed as NATURE-LOVERS. Pocahontas was kidnapped to England but in DISNEY she was a diplomat in England. Pocahontas was NOT a princess nor the ONLY CHILD of Powhatan. THE REAL POCAHONTAS WAS 11 YEARS OLD.
Point being, why are Native Americans always shoned as Nature-Loving Princesses or Drunks?

it's a load of crap...but not any worse than any of the other depictions i've seen...my kids enjoyed it, but they already knew the true story...from the decendants of the tribes that first encountered captain newport, smith, rolfe and the rest..my wife and her tribe...still in virginia, still together, still strong, and STILL not federally recognized...

they never said her age in the movie and it was a cartoon for heavens sake! She was a princess!(shhhh don't tell your kids that she wasn't! she rocks to them2 ) seriously, shes a disney princess, not a real one! dad calls me ''princess'' and i'm the youngest!

On the contrary, Disney's Pocahontas is the stereotype of a white, female singer from the 1990s. She isn't anything like a Native American.
