Did you know we have another national crises that should bring FEAR into your hearts and minds? and that the federal govt.( who protects us) has the proper answer to that external fear???
The new fear is that our computers can no longer be
protected from attack by
any company that now sells
or mfgrs security ware--but the government has the answer.
Homeland Security now has
the expertise to protect all
civilian and busines and military computers. An executive order is at present being formulated and will soon
be signed which puts all
internet and cyberspace under
the jurisdiction of H.S. and now none of our computers
are private, none of our info
is private, all is now open to
the eyes and ears of H.S.
This will be sold as a "protection" to us poor dumb
slobs that cannot protect ourselves. Any and all computer info is not open to
homeland security. How do
you feel about this? You will
begin to hear the blurbs soon.

I always thought we were being watched at some level. My computer has never been private. I can tell because I get so much spam and most of it is coming from the companies who pay Yahoo to put their ads on here. I am fighting mad at that.

before there was a movie called "the devil's advocate" - years before, in fact - there was a book by that same name, written by one of my very favorite authors,Taylor Caldwell.
I always felt it was an alternative to Orwell's 1984 that I could deal with. I recommend it HIGHLY to anyone who is troubled by the way things have been done in this country for the last 6 years.
There are many who will tell you we NEED extra government because of external threats.

history is full of those threats, somebody always trots 'em out when they want to ignore personal freedom and liberty.

I'm no raving paranoid, either...but it sure will make you think when you read a book written about 50-60 years ago in fiction form about what has happened in this country in the last decade.

the good news is the BOOK, at least, has a happy ending.

No worries. Both of my sons are software engineers and developers. I have firewalls the size of King Kong's on all my computers. The business about the executive order is bogus. There are no such plans in the works. But, spreading the word should increase the sale of tin-foil hats again.

I don't think anything is private anymore Mountaingal. I mean you can find out anything about anybody, and that is really scary. Sounds like Big Brother has been here for quite some time now. Question is, should we accept it or fight against it? This is just the tip of the iceberg. Stay tuned.
