No, but I've squirted windshield washer fluid at any bug that lands on my windshield!
But, pertaining to your specific question, and not having an intimate knowledge of boxelder bugs (you might try picking the brains over in Science & Nature), and If I may speculate for a moment, perhaps this particular boxelder was aroused by the aroma of some new-fangled coffee flavour that you are trying for the first time?
Or, perhaps at the urging of his fellow boxelder chums, it was his turn to go out for snacks, but was distracted by his own weakness, gave-in to the temptation of making an extra stop, and became simply another page three statistic in the next day's "Boxelder Dispatch?"
What a Sizzler!

Up until this moment I had never heard of a boxelder bug. Had to look it up. Never heard of a boxelder tree either. See children you're never too old to learn something useless.

Yes. It's a sign that bugs want to be a part of everything in our lives from climbing on our walls, flying in our eyes and trying to drink our coffee.

Deep fried ants, chocolate covered grasshoppers,,,but, not fried box elder bugs... maybe if you smashed and fried enough of them, added a little garlic and put them in the spaghetti sauce..they would be good...and more protein for the family !
