FOIL it.
First multiply the first terms.
x * x = x^2
Now, multiply the outer terms
1 * x = x
Now, multiply the inner terms
7 * x = 7x
Finally, multiply the last terms
7*1 = 7
Add them all up, and you get
x^2 + 8x + 7 for an answer
Hope this helps! :)

X(Squared)+8x+7
An easy way to remember how to do this problem is to use the FOIL method:
F – First, (multiply the first terms inside the ( )’s together.)
O –Outer (Multiply the first term inside the 1st ( ) and the last term in the 2nd ( ). )
I –Inner (Multiply the last term of the 1st ( ) and the first term of the 2nd ( ). )
L – Last (multiply the last terms in the ( )’s together.)
