I can't think of a person I know, except small children, who doesn't have a cellular.

When I went to work today, I accidentally left my cell at home. And I wondered how in the heck I ever got by without one.

Don' t own one now .... didn' t own one in the past .... no plans to buy one in the future !
My reason : -
I' ve experienced , too many times , people that have a cell-phone , whether unintentionally or not , are actually rude when that cell-phone rings or vibrates !
Here' s the scenario : -
The cell-phone owner is in a conversation with someone in his / her presence . Then , the cell-phone rings .
The person owning the phone turns right away from the person talking with them and totally ignores that person to give 100% of their attention to a stupid cell-phone !
The other poor soul is left hanging there and the cell-phone owner hasn' t even politely said , " Will you please excuse me ? I have a call . " OR simply , " Will you please excuse me ? "
Cell-phone owners need a whole bunch of lessons in , " Respect For Others " .

I got rid of it some 7 years ago and to this day I have none.
Lo and behold --- ever since then NOT one person missed an appointment with me or was late more than 15 minutes for one.

Reason? They can't call me back making excuses why they can't show up. They also know that I do not wait for anybody for more than 15 minutes, because I value my time, the only true commodity I have every day supplied to me free of charge.

I'm probably one of the last adults on earth to get a cell phone. It's only one of those that you add minutes to,but it's my cell and I take it with me whenever I go out on my own. I'll be 70 years old in January and it took a little while to get the knack of using it-but I've got it now and watch out world. My 7 year old great grand-daughter has her own cell. I guess you're never too old or too young.

I was trying to be the last person on Earth to have one, but, moving and working between multiple States in the past two years, travelling on near-deserted roads with very few gas stations, cities, police, etc, along the routes, forced me to get one. Now, I don't know how I got along without one, though, quite honestly, I rarely use it (it's hard to hold, the battery doesn't last too long, I don't use it during non-free hours, etc, etc, etc). However, I assure you that there are plenty on the planet who have never even heard of a cellphone, much less own one (I am sure they are better off than we are, if only financially speaking!). ;)

I don't own a cellphone and never have. I have a condition with my central nervous system called benign familial tremor and the phones are too tiny to operate without misdialing or touching another wrong key.

I get on fine with a landline and letting folks know where I'll be.

I know several people (teenagers) who don't have cell phones. I was forced to get a cellphone because I was away from home a lot. I don't want it, I don't see whats wrong with pay phones or land lines, so although I technically own one, I don't use it. It sits on my dresser as decoration gathering dust.

My husband has one and I use it only occasionally. I have a strong aversion to talking to people on the phone and I have to be reminded to carry a cell phone with me when I go out. Otherwise, I'll leave it at home or out in the car.
