i have a chrysler concord, 2001, 24 valve engine, when i turn the car on, then the air on, its ok, not extremely cool, but its ok. then when we drive for a bit, it starts to get hot, blowing out hot air. the car is running fine though. someone said it could be the dryer. what are your thoughts?

Go to your local Auto Zone store and pick up an R134a freon kit. The kit contains a gauge and three cans of freon. Recharge your system and run for a few days. If it continues to cool you have saved yourself a lot of money. If the system slowly starts to warm up you have a slow leak somewhere. If you look around the connections and see a light green oil around the connection, that is your problem.

Blend door in the heater box is stuck and as the engine gets hot, the heater core gets and thus hot air blows out the vents.

Have the blend door in the heater box fixed so that it stops the air from flowing through the heater core into your car.

Or, the coolant flow shut off valve is not stoping the flow of hot coolant through the heater core.

yea just recharge the a/c you're just getting engine heat blowing as you accelerate hence why they had to make something that cooled that heat coming through the vents.
