me and my mate always joke around, i call him a dirty mongrel half breed n1gga rusky and he calls me a half frog leg eater half arab suicide bomber lol we laugh about it and think absolutely nothing of it.

but say for some reason you hate someone of another race for a certain thing, and you take it out on that entire race .. but feel guilty about it later .... does that make you racist??

just for the record, 3 of my role models are black ... some from my martial arts class and ppl i know.

so ... does that make me racist or prejudice?

you're asking two questions here.

If you hate someone from another race (whatever 'race' means - personally I think it's an outdated and offensive concept, given that there are no significant genetic differences between humans from different ethnic backgrounds) and choose to 'take it out on' other people from, let's say, the same ethnic background, then that is undoubtedly bigoted and racist behaviour.

If you call your friend names and he takes it as fun and calls you names back, and you know he's joking, then that's not racist, because you both know that your friendship is stronger than the name calling. Perhaps you call each other by the names as a way of making the names seem less powerful - you want to believe that your friendship is stronger than the ethnic differences between you.

For your sakes, and for the rest of us, I sincerely hope that it is. If you and your mate are mates despite the fact that you like to throw what would normally be considered abusive names at each other, good for you. It shows that your friendship is more real than the artificial and stupid societal divisions created by bigots with agendas to push.

Yes if its the race and not the person.

TO RUBY LIG UP THERE AT THE TOP WHO WROTE THIS

"Although no one likes to admit it, we are all racist and predjudice to some degree. Just treat others who you wish to be treated"

H ow do work that one out.
Clearly you are not very intelligent tot think this.
I do not hate anyone.
I let go of that many yrs ago as I find hate a completely unhealthy emotion.
If you have enough self control (something you obviuosly haven't) then you will be amazed at what the mind can do.
In future do not be so narrow minded.
No wonder you page is set to private.
You must have had people tell you already about your ways.

No, but say you were to fall out with a black person, would terms like "dirty mongrel half breed n1gga rusky" dissipate from your vocabulary? It's a dangerous line, especially being so casual about it.

People are prejuctice without even reliesing it most of the time,it's human nature. If there is something making you feel you're been 'racist' or prejuctice the chances are there is a hidden fear, look into it and ask yourself the question.
I have an example the other day.I was on the train home and a black man started having a go at a man for been white,I asked him,'if your brother murdered someone, does that make you a murderer?'He stood there and nothing because he knew I was right,if we all carried 'chips',I know I would be carrying alot,as I have black, jewish, native american in my genes.

I don't think you're racist, but I do think you shouldn't use epithets you have no knowledge of.

Its thoughtless and dangerous. I once worked with a group of black men and the younger ones called each other n%@@3r.

I was suprised and a little embarrassed, until one day an older black guy pulled the younger ones up about it.

He said that the reason they shouldn't use that word, was because so many black men had died with that word being the last thing they heard.
He also said that with so many non english speaking people around, if they saw that youngsters used the N word as a joke, they might use it themselves, at which point they would be in trouble with the very people they learned it off.

I've never forgotten that and I always think about peoples feelings ....before I open my mouth.

you would only be racist if you actually meant what you were saying. SInce you are sharing a mutual joke with your friend, and do not mean it, I would not call you a racist.

I think in some ways its human tribal instinct for us to be suspicious of people that look different to us. That doesn't make it ok, but it happens. So you might encounter a rude person who happens to be black, and focus on that encounter whilst completely forgetting about the positive interactions you have had, say with your martial arts friends.
Just keep in your heart what you know is right. The fact that you felt guilty shows that you know this already. And never just go along with someones else's opinions just because it's the easiest thing to do-eg all that foreigners steal our jobs crap.

I think if you feel guilty about hating an entire race of people because of the actions of one or a few indviduals then there's hope for you. I think we have all done it but when the anger has subsided and we've snapped back into our normal senses, we wonder what we were up to with those sweeping judgements about people. Why isn't there hope for us when we can at least tell that what we're doing is wrong?

I personally truly believe that repeated emotional abuse breeds anger and racism, just the same way as extreme feelings like jealousy give birth to racism.

I think that everyone struggles with the little racism devil on one shoulder and the equality angel on the other. Hopefully the angel wins far more often than the devil.

yes you are racist and prejudice..
hating a certain person for their race and colour rather than just because you think that person is a prick means that your racist
...and if you are referring to black people, who you hate so much.. then its is weird that you have black role models.

but if you were joking around with your black friend.. not meaning anything you said and only responding to what he was saying about you to protect your race.. then that might not be considered racist.
but since you are prejudice to my colour , then i would say your pathetic
