i do both.. but when an answer catches my eyes and makes me laugh, i choose that for a best answer.. so neither of both in that case.

Quality and Comedy, when there is a real funny one I just have to give it to them! But usually I just pick the most thorough one.

If someone has a short answer that just answers the questions without explaining, I usually won't pick it. If someone posts a really, really long one that looks like it was just copied and pasted, I don't pick that either. I typically pick an answer that looks like took a few minutes and that someone actually thought about my questions and truly wanted to help me by giving a great answer. Also when someone provides links to sites that have more information about the topic (if applicable)

Mostly quality. If the person answers the question well and adds personal experience details it's a great answer to me.

Quality-sometimes I have gotten answers where people just go on and on and on and don't ever get to the point that I was asking.

i've yet to choose a best answer
but i would choose on quality
because the best answer can be short n sweet
its all about being straight to the the point
not writing essays

I don't ask many questions. When I do, I rate based on quality. The answer has to have substance and answer my question.

I base mine off of what makes me laugh, which answer is out of the box, or if they're all the same I usually pick on of my friends/contacts.
