I have heard a lot of people saying it is falling apart or that they don't think its safe because it is so old.

Yes it is safe. They have a whole team of people who inspect and fix rides everyday.
It's not falling down. Who told you that? LOL.

It's like a good 'ol Hot Rod. When it was built it was in The Guiness Book of World Records as the Longest, Tallest and Fastest roller coaster in the World.

The Screaming Eagle is still worthy!

Screaming eagle is awesome! They do routine maintenance on all the roller coasters. The have to pass rigorous inspections in Order to stay up and running. The coaster was made in 1976 but the trains were replace in 1994. There have been no injuries or deaths reported on the screaming eagle so i would say it is safe. You can check this website for injuries and fatalities http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prerel.html

Here is another site that has injuries and fatalities at all six flags theme parks
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incidents_at_Six_Flags_parks

**But i also want to say that even though no accidents have been reported in the past does not mean that they cannot happen in the present or future. Everyone who gets on any ride should be aware that there are risks.**

Hope this helps

Its been around for a long time but Six Flags does a lot of maintenance and inspections. They would not be running an unsafe ride because they wouldnt want to take the chance of being sued for millions of dollars if someone gets hurt.

Yes, its safe. its old and people think it is falling apart, but really that's just because its made out wood and its going to be louder and there is more give to the track. Newer metal coasters have a smoother ride. Its a cool old ride though, no reason not go to on it.

I rode it for the first time when it was dark and it scared the crap out of me. It is safe or else they would have shut it down. It is no worse than other rollercosters. It does jump the track a little but it has done that forever. Actually compared to the Boss, the Screaming Eagle is calm. The Boss is also built with wood but it beats you to death. The Boss was smooth at first but then the wood starts to warp and get worn so it is rough now. The Screaming Eagle is the oldest ride so of course people are going to start rumors.
If you are nervous about riding it, then don't but if you want to jump on it for the few minutes it goes, then have fun!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

scariest ride ever is that elevator thing that shoots you up and then drops you and back up , worst feeling in your stomach. super man is scary as hell, the drop is WAY to high but thats the only bad part, other than that, well the one where i live in MA, doesnt go upside down or anything. the best roller coaster was the mind eraser, it was one where you hang down, it was the best ride by far. it goes all over the place, tons of barrel rolls.

My Wife and I went the other year and we rode in the very back......around one of the curves our car tilted and rode on 2 wheels......yeah we were Screaming.... Just remember all rides are safe until someone gets hurt,...... I mean look at the Tower of Power ..... it was safe until it cut off some legs...
