-they can reach you at all times in case of an emergency (family emergency)
-you can reach them at all in times in case of an emergency (you got hurt, ur getting kidnapped)
-you'll feel safer knowing that you can call the police in case anything happens
-you'll follow all school rules (phone on silent or vibrate)

Well if they won't get u a cell phone then ask them for a trac phone and they have minutes u can buy. Do extra stuff around the house to make a little money. In order to get what u want u have to make ur parents think that they are getting what they want in return. Remind them that they can get a hold of u anytime, anywhere, any place. So that they always no where u are. (I know that sounds un kool but hey it may work) If they do not buy it then go with the trac phone idea they look like a regular phone so noone will know the difference (except u). that way they can buy the loadable cards for u at like walmart and they do not have to worry about u going over minutes or paying a bill. And same luxuries as a real cell phone.

Be more responsible. Show them. Once you become an adult and start buying cars and homes, you have to show proof of being responsible and paying your bills. I am assuming you are too young to work or your parents dont ask you to work because you are a student. So start off like that. I would ask them if on like "Friday", you can have a talk with the both of them about the cell phone. Let them know you will not be pressuring but showing the reasons in which you would like one. Prove your resonsable. Show thema orund the house and help out more. Tell them how you plan to keep up good grades and you will not be tieing up their phone line any more. When you are out with friends it's a great way to keep in touch and they are really not that expensive. They can add you to their line for probally like 45$/month. I made a deal with my parents! I told them that I would by the phone if they would pay the bill. Well, they got me a tracfone. But, my birthday's on October 30, so I'm getting a real one then. well you have to prove you're responsible, you can also tell them you need it in case there is an emergency, I used that line on my parents, you should also tell them you wont go over the minutes and text way too much, oh and try to pay for some of the bill like around half of the bill, or the text messaging part.

You can just ask but the better thing to do is to prove to them that you need it.
Like me for example I play softball on a traveling team and sometimes we go out of state (I'm 15 and I ride with my coach) so I need the phone to stay in contact with my parents to let them know what's happening or when to pick me up.

tell your parents society is changed, to be safe you have to have a cell phone there are so many creeps out in the wold these days, it will be for your own safety.

I got one by giving a little to get a little. I aimed high( sidekick) so I could get a better-than-average phone( RAZR V3XX ). And I'm uber happy with my choice! The internet is fast, I barely scratch the memory in it, and She thinks she was being conservative! just mention it and they will get the hint and get you one when they can. I got mine 5 weeks before B-day so i still got a B-day present.

well.... if u really want 1 then u could try to work hard in school and get good grades or, u can get a job and save up. but when i wanted a cell phone i jugs tried hard in school and didn't get n trouble, another thing u could do is just save up your lunch money (if u buy lunch) and sneak and buy your own... like a prepaid or something.
