For many years I was a warrior & had many formidable weapons. Then one day I realized that "the enemy" thrived off my attention & devotion to the battle, that I could not win the war in this fashion. I discovered anything I resist only grows stronger, so I laid my weapons down & left the battlefield. At some point every warrior must give up the battle. There is another way. Thanks.

Mysteriously, I arrive at the battle...30 minutes late. Already you're unnerved because you were expecting me to arrive on time.
Immediately I set myself in an open stance and with an open mind. Being devoid of form and not knowing my style and my choice of weapon, how will you attack me? How do you strike at nothing? You can't. But you'll try to strike anyway.
The battle ends just as suddenly as it started. While you were thinking of how to win, I'd already won although you'll only realize it later.
I conjured with my mind, if that makes any sense.

"The Full Armour of God" (Ephesians 6:13-17)
13. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15. And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16. Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

An open-mind. I'm willing to listen to what the enemy has to say. They just might have enough to convince me to make them a friend, then. And if not, at least hopefully I can learn enough about them to write up a truce that will make us both happy and the battle will never have to happen.

Depends on the kind of battle, its' causes & the expected outcomes of success/failure.
I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent.
& so many candidates think they are a wit - only they are 1/2 right.

In terms of weapons, I can bring the following:
M203 Grenade Launcher
M16 A2
50 Cal
M60 Machine Gun
A couple of pistols, a riot gun..
And all of the other weapons the US military can offer... and it will make no difference...
Might does not make right...

Knives, pepper spray, my saliva (yes, I fight dirty), and a staff... and my feet in some tough shoes. Well, that's for THAT kind of battle.
For the battle of wits I bring my strong will and a bit of "smart-assery," depending on what kind of argument it is.

I have used my last arrow and my arm is at my side, I watch with my eyes, and I hear with my ears. So many times I have listened and seen through others eyes and ears, I had to make a stand in the end. All is well.
