Out of the many different European Cities one can visit during the wintertime, which cities would you consider as the best cities to visit between December and March?

Paris is good, just don't stay at the Rue de Maubeuge, most HORRIBLE hotel on the face of the earth. München (Munich) is good too. All over Germany, there are lots of Christmas markets. I highly recommend the ones in Rothenberg, Trier, and I hear Dresden has a nice one too. Eisenach and Würzburg are good all year round, as well. What you want to do is stay as far west as possible. The farther east you go, the colder it's going to be. You also want to stay south (Dresden isn't really "south" per se, but it's a beautiful city. I was there last November, and it was gorgeous).

It also depends on what you're looking for. You're going to have to be more specific. Are you looking for winter activities? Modern? Historic?

I really love Paris. It's probably my favorite city that I've visited so far, followed closely by Boleslawiec in Poland, and München. I mainly only know Germany, France, and Poland though. Are you looking for a more temperate location? I'd recommend Greece, Portugal, or Spain.

P.S. Wherever you go, book your hotel no more than two weeks in advance through www.ratestogo.com. I'm not kidding. They have the best deals on four and five star hotels all over the world. Why pay 85 euro to stay in a two star in Paris, when you can stay in a four or five star for 125?

I agree with the person above, Prague is beautiful year round. In fact, I think it's the most beautiful city I have ever been to, and I've been to every city you can imagine in Europe.

If not Prague, my second choice would be Paris. Who wouldn't want to go to the Champs with the row of trees all lit up? :)

Prague without a doubt - you can even take a day trip to Cesky Krumlov. A lot to offer. ;)

Oh, it's magical at Christmas!
