I need help in enlisting new members, increasing submissions, and selling more magazines. Note we have a limited budget., and limited resources. Any help would be great.

Could you host a poetry reading with authors from your last issue? It could be a coffee-house type deal, you could have an open mic or just feature pieces in your lit mag, but it might be a novel way to get people's attention. Of course, you'd need to find a time, a place, and permission from your school.

Hmm, I'm not sure that I can be of much help, (I'm not very good at explaining things,) but I'll try. You need to find a way to make the other students want to be involved. Show them how participating positively affects them and how great it would be for them to participate. Perhaps you could get your English and other teachers to say a small bit about it in class, or maybe you could hold contests for short stories and such, people love winning things. There are a lot of wannabe writers and poets and I'm sure they would love the exposure. I hope that was at least a little bit helpful. Best of luck to you and your magazine! ^_^

Edit: Think of it this way, why do people usually buy magazines? To get something they want, which is information of some kind. What information does your magazine offer that the people would want to know so much that they would buy it?
