I mean people go absolutley bonkers at the thought of a cup of Eggnog or a Chestnut roasting on a dam open fire. Don't get me wrong I am no Grinch and I do think the goodwill towards all men is a wonderful thing and something we should employ 365 days a year but the avarice and the fake seasonal joviality really gets on my friggin nerves....am I the only one!?? I think not....

I am the grinch. I hate the traffic, the crowds, the false music, and the phony santas. Christmas is a wiccfan holiday that the christians thought was kinda nice, so they took it over and here we are. Holidays for many families and excuse to drag out the old laundry from 20 years ago and beat it to death around the dinner table.
One christmas as a child I remember a turkey, as in slow motion, flying over the table, and straight into my step-dads
lap as he was conversing with the neighbor and quaffing a glass of wine.
What an arm my mom had.

I gave up going to relatives holiday bashes long ago. Eating out is so much more civilized, none of the family BS,
no goodbys or recriminations. Now I send money instead of trying to negotiate the crowds.
Yeah, I'm with you all the way. Thanx

i love Christmas. but i love the old fashion one. when you went over and gave your neighbor a plate of cookies and wished them well. when you got sock and a new or used coat and if you were lucky a toy. but it was the party's and good times. the hot coco and cookies. going hunting for the right tree. the hay ride with others. the singing from home to home getting goodies as you go. the hunting for missatoe in the woods the fires at night with the story of other Christmases of the pass. the love in the home the joy of find that one gift you make for your brother or sister or mom. find odd jobs so you could earn some money to buy something like penny candy to give with your gift. the wishing and hoping of what may come your way. the sear catalog you look at over and over again. you wish and share your wishes with your family. and no matter what you get your are over joyed with it all. and the best part Christmas dinner with family and Friends fruit cake and pumpkin cakes. sugar cookies and turkey all fill the home with warmth and love

The part of the holiday season I hate is the "Are you ready for Christmas?", "How was your Christmas, did you get everything you wanted?" questions! By the time New Years rolls around I'm ready to slap the people that say that! Also, if your in any type of business (like sales) no one will buy anything until "after the holidays", sheesh!

I think the Christmas season starts too early. Right after Halloween, the stores start selling Christmas stuff. It's a wonderful holiday when people are not consumed by the materialism part of it.

i have to disagree.

near christmas, take a walk outside in the evening. enjoy the lights, and the trees, and the decorations, and the snow(well unless u live in a place that doesnt get snow)

notice how everyone is happy, truly joyfull and appriate the season for what it is. a chance for people to show their love and generosity for one another and apriacate the necesities in life (food, drink, family, friends, a roof over their heads, etc.

I only reason I love Christmas is that I can act my normal super hyper and happy way for one day without someone asking me if I'm high. I always have the giving spirit and a jolly spirit (probably 360 days a year) but everyone thinks it so weird, but they all do it for way day... and one day just isn't enough.
