I inherited some property and i know that my credit is fair...a while back I had a reposession in my name..I don't know if they have put a judgment on me or not...I did check my credit report and it stated the reposession as a charge-off...I don't want to do...if I put the property in my name they may take if from me for unsettled debt or can they do that?

You can go to public records in your state. It should have a link to unclaimed property/money. Oh I'm sorry I misread your ??, but you can still go to public records. Good Luck!

this is a gray area in law and can vary state to state. Your best bet is to get a lawyer in the juridiction the property is located in and let them pursue this for you.
