9/11 question?

plz dont answer if 9/11 upsets u. but in school i have to write a paper on a argumentive issue. i chose to write on why we as American citizens dont have a national monument of what happen on this tragic day. so i was wondering what u felt about it. should we have one or not and why. tell me how u feel about the issue -n- how our prisedent has done to fix this situation. i would deeply appercaite it. again plz dont respond if this is to upsetting for u. thx

It's actually pretty simple.

The owner of the property wants the rebuilding to be done with someone else's money, as in a government grant.

The government wants to please everybody.

The families don't want it to be an office building, even though that would be the BEST memorial under the circumstances (see this hole? it used to be an office building. my cousin died trying to save it, but it fell. now it's a hole.)

You have unrelated people that want a piece of it. Hundreds of artists want their particular piece of scrap metal to be the "decoration" of the site, even if no one could ever decipher what that shape has to do with anything, and they would generously donate their work of art for a mere million or two.

It's none of the president's business what happens there.

Everyone needs to back off, and let the owner of the land do whatever he wants to do, as long as he uses his own money to do it, and complies with building codes.

Because the government doesn't truly care about the people that died on that day. Our President has done nothing to fix this problem because he is nothing but a big oaf and a monkey.
