"Backwards masking". I think it is a lot of hooey and some bands have been known to put in the masking. just to tweak with your mind

It is total borrocks and has been proven so many times. You can even prove it to yourself.
Take a simple word - "bitter". How do you think it will sound if played backwards? Probably "rettib", right?
WRONG - if you record yourself saying "bitter" than replay it backwards, what you will hear is "erskib". "Yes" sounds like "nays" when played backwards. And so it goes on.
Because of the complexities of the human voice and speech pattern, it is utterly impossible to create a sentence that makes grammatical, logical sense when heard forwards AND backwards.
Sorry to disappoint all the conspiracy theorists, but that's the truth. Try it yourself sometime...

I think it's very clever. I think the Beatles were the first to use it, probably on the run out groove of the Sgt. Pepper Album. Play it B.W. and it says 'Sure as anything, plain as anything, we'll f*ck you like supermen'. STRANGE message to pick, but I can assure you it is there - I scratched the *** out of Lucy in the Sky in the process of checking! lol
