We all know the Halloweens, Texas Chainsaw Massacres, etc. What are some really good 80's slasher movies that are out there.

I apologize for not enough detail. I've seen all the Friday the 13ths, the Nightmare movies. I'm looking for movies like Slaughter High, Prom Night, Terror Train, My Bloody Valentine, Sleepaway Camp. Obscure, not well known slasher movies with an unknown killer.

...a few of my personal favorites, some of which have unfortunately not seen release on DVD (...but might still be found on VHS, and would be well worth looking for) are...

"Silent Scream" (1980)

...Terror so sudden, there's no time to scream!!! A young, beautiful and sexy college student (Rebecca Balding, of '70's T.V.'s "Soap") rents a room in a cliffside seaside cottage, amongst a handful of other students; run by a nerdly young man and his seclusive 'mother', the two-story Victorian residence also houses 'something' that lives in the attic, haunts the hidden passageways within the house, and occasionally escapes from his/her/it's tower prison, to violently & bloodily stalk and dispatch assumed invaders...and she next has his/her/it's eyes on the recent and hapless new occupants. Character actors Avery Schreiber and Cameron Mitchell star as the detectives, who are attempting to unravel the mystery behind the gruesome and merciless murders...

"The Mutilator" (1985)

...by Sword, by Pick, by Axe...Bye! Bye! A young man and his friends, with nothing to do during Fall Break (...in fact, the film's original title), trek out to the young man's father's beachside shack, to clean things up, and close the place down; one by one, the kids are gruesomely and quite bloodily dispatched by a mysterious and lumbering killer, hiding in the shadows. Is it the vengeful father of the young man, who still has not gotten over the death of his wife, years before, when his young son was cleaning his father's guns for his father's birthday...and inadvertantly shoots his mother in the back, before his father came back home from hunting??? Who knows???

"Pieces" (1982, and the only one of this trio available on DVD)

...You don't have to go to Texas, for a chainsaw massacre!!! Just who IS violently and bloodily dispatching varied and hapless collage girls at a local campus, with a chainsaw, and for some reason, taking certain pieces of the bodies? A local detective (Christopher George) and his girlfriend, a tennis pro (Linda Day George) are quick to take on the mystery, as the bodies pile up...

...check 'em out, below; they might be a little hard to find, but be rest assured that they are well worth looking for and/or waiting for...

The Prom nite movies are always fun. One of my favs was always, April Fools day. But the best horror flik of all is - Last house on the left, not 80's but well worth watching.
