do you think all the speculative posts on here would have been here without the media? would people who didnt have hard evidential facts have made their mind up without the media reporting and writing supposition and leaked hearsay

Sure. Especially if you buy into the media myths which are peddled as truth. Here's a few of the more popular ones:
Myth: We went into Iraq with the primary purpose of finding WMDs and none were found.
Fact: Public Law #107-243 which authorized offensive military operations against Iraq makes little mention of WMDs.
Myth: President Bush has been carrying out illegal wiretaps.
Fact: Section 314 of Public Law #107-108 passed in December of 2001 authorized warrantless electronic surveillance for a period of up to 72 hours. That section mirrored what President Clinton had put into Executive Order # 12949 in February of 1995.
Myth: President Bush vetoed a bill to provide free health care to children because he is heartless and doesn't care about children.
Fact: The bill he vetoed would have given free health care to the children of parents who earn up to $80,000 per year, without those parents paying a dime of health insurance premiums.
There's lots more. But, unless you challenge the assumptions put forth by the media under the guise of "news" you will swallow what they put out.

Alternatively look up Fox News features about Saddam's WMD's post 9/11 and then count how many they found when they invaded Iraq.
