GE Profile are the higher end GE products. I can highly recommend the Ge Profile washer and dryer if that's what you're shopping for. That's what I have. I've had mine for around 2 years. I only recommend washers that have agiitators. I don't recommend any of the front loaders or the ones that don't have agitators. Had a set. Sent them back. The model # of the set I bought is ( model # WPRB8050D).

GE Profile it top of the line for GE and I've always liked the Profile line. We lived near Schenectady, NY for several years and lived in a neighborhood with lots of GE folks. Schenectady is where Thomas Edison founded what would become the General Electric Company. Everyone bought GE (I still do) and for the most part thought Profile really was worth the extra money. Yes, GE employees do have to pay for their appliances. But employees do receive discounts. GE is a bit like General Motors....the Chevy and the Cadillac may start out very much the same, but in the end the Cadillac will have all the extra bells and whistles. It's really up to you and how much you want to spend.

I did not fly anything even close to 120,000 lbs of thrust - My 747 had 4 x 52,000 lbs of thrust - I flew 747 with P&W, GE and RR engines - Engines are airline options - As pilot I liked the GE "CF6-50" engines - never had a compressor stall - Could slam full power then idle, the engines are nice and smooth - The P&W "JT9D" were reliable, and can sustain bad treatment - Throw pebbles or sand in the inlet, a Pratt does not mind - You can tune the fuel control units with a hammer and a chisel - The RR RB-211 is another story - complicated engine, very touchy - Be careful - Do not abuse them - All is done contrary to other engines - I have limited experience with the Rollers - So just an uneducated pilot opinion, I loved the GE - I liked the CFM as well, on the KC-135 and DC8-70 - Earlier in my airline career, I had JT3D and JT8D as well - .
