It was a "clean" block, yet stupid block. He should have stayed out of the way. You don't go after someones knees, except from the front. Johnson wasn't watching, or expecting Green to try to block him.

Trent Green is at the end of his career. Maybe 2 years left. He's not a long term answer. At best he is a care taker for a younger QB. A show them the ropes before you move on type of guy. That doesn't mean he can't help Miami, just that he's not going to be there a long time. If Green has the time he can still be a very good QB. Age and injuries are catching up to him though. Why else would KC part with him for a 5th round pick. Why else would they want to go with a younger QB.

Saying that Trent Green was trying to end the career of Travis Johnson makes about as much sense as your name claiming that the Democrats are moderate.
He's a QB, he was trying to just get in the way of Johnson and messed up and paid the price for it. The last time most NFL QB's have thrown a real block was back in pee wee football.
And politically if we had more moderates it would be much better in Congress, sad thing is, there are few on either side of the aisle.
Oh and you played both ways in college football? Interesting...

I was watching another game and just caught a glimpse of the replay of the hit by Green. When they said something about a concussion, I thought they were talking about the guy being blocked (all I saw was him doing a sideways 180-degree head plant).
But, when I realized what happened, my first thought was, "How stupid is Green to try cutting Johnson's knees like that? He deserved to get smacked in the head. He could have ended Johnson's season - if not his career - right then and there."
Oh, well. At least we might get to see Cleo Lemon. He was always a third back-up in San Diego. And, if Green stays out for a while, he'll finally get a chance to play.

He was making a play. You need to go back and see when QB's or Kickers try and block or tackle they almost always go after the legs. He was just doing his job (very badly I might add). He meant no harm but I'd rather see him get a concussion then end Johnsons career. It was an accident on both ends, Trent for not positioning himself correctly and Johnson for taunting a KO'd man. Poor sportsmanship on both guys. And by the way I'm not bias I was a DT in high school so I know how scary it is to be chopped.

1)Trent Green, being a QB, has an IQ of at least 101.
2)Anyone with an IQ of at least 101 does not lead with his head when attempting to block a running 315 lb. lineman.
3)Therefore, Trent Green did not try to end the career of Travis Johnson!
Really, I've only seen a short clip of it and it appears Trent had slipped, was on his way down, caught but a glimpse of the oncoming defender and attempted to get his head in front to not be called for blocking in the back and, OOPS!, nearly got his head taken off for his trouble.
I've played also and the speed at which these plays occur leaves no time for premeditation, especially if you're out of control as Trent was.

johnson had every right to yell at green because not only could johnson's knees have been injured but his neck and head as well since he went head over heels and landed on his head.green was in the wrong and johnson should not get fined or suspended.why is it when a defensive player hits a qb below the knees he gets a 15 yard penalty and a big fine but when a qb hits a defensive player below the knees its ok?

I saw the play...Looked to me like Green slipped...not like he was trying to lay a block on the DL...Johnson should hear from the NFL and get a fine, and possible suspension for 3 or 4 games...

What did you expect? Did you think that Green should've tried blocking him above the waste? Green wouldn't have been alive afterwards if he would've tried that.
BTW - you may be biased without even knowing it - you're thinking from a "large man's" perspective, not from a 180lb qb.

I really don't think Green intended to thrash Johnson's knees. I think he just exhibited really bad technique.
