Most major publishing houses will not accept un-solicited material - meaning if you send them anything they won't even read it. You need to write a superb letter requesting that they read your work. This is the generally accepted ettiquette. Be witty, but not wacky, polite but not grovelling. Once invited to submit material, you must send a chapter outline for your novel and one or two really good chapters - a good thing to do is send chapters one and two and the final chapter.
Alternatively, get an agent and they will hoick it round for you!
Good luck

Honey I am 60 and have (3years ago) written a fantasy mixed with Greek mythology...98,000 words. The hardest part is to make a synopsis telling what happens in 2 pages. 3 years on and am now thinking of my sysopsis. Lazy maybe ...but have ideas for 2 more books. Keep writing...Dont give up....search the net for publishers of Fantasy...Get the Writers and Artists year book...full of good info. Good Luck.

Send the first chapter to as many publishers as you can, don't give up, just keep sending it out.
If they write back and say send it again when you're an adult, then I suppose that all you can do is wait until you're a bit older, and spend the time editing your novel and starting something new as well.
I really hope you manage to get it published.

Get a copy of Writer's Market and read how to submit to a publisher and who is accepting. Yes your parents would have to sign with you on any contract.

If you are an author you really should know how to go about getting a book published. Submit the manuscript to any publisher. Or aproach a publishing agent.
You do not need to state your age when submitting a manuscript.

you may be better off submitting it to a sci-fi periodical as many sci-fi and fantasy authors started their careers this way.
Also you may want to consider self-publishing, and then promoting the work yourself, you can get more details from this from lulu.com
