As a former delivery driver, a stiff is a stiff, no matter who it comes from. And by the way, when you stiff the driver because of a delivery charge, just remember, the driver does not see any of that. It goes into the stores pocket most of the time to help pay for the insurance they have to carry on the drivers. They get a small amount for each delivery they make on top of the wage they earn, but it doesn't cover gas or repairs on the car. I got out of the business.
By the way, I am considered obese, and if I do order a pizza on a rare occasion, I tip 4-5 bucks. I've been there.

Are you serious??? Anyone who doesn't tip the pizza delivery person is a total schmuck! The miniscule delivery charges don't begin to cover expenses like gas, oil, insurance, wear and tear on someone's personal vehicle and minimum wage for employees _presumed_ to be tipped employees is currently 4.50 /hr US. Can you live on that?
If your pizza is what you ordered, arrives within the time stated by the person who takes your order and reasonably hot, you should tip 10-20% of your bill, (minus the delivery charge if you are truly a Scrooge.) Not all delivery charges go to the driver in full, usually the restaurant takes part.
I've never done this for a living, but my son has and I know the dangers and costs of the job. You never know who is going to meet you at the door, who is going to roll you on your way back to the car, whatever. As jobs go, it's not a great one, so give the Pizza People a break, will you?
Tip Your Pizza Delivery Person!
PS I'm ignoring the weight comments as not tipping is way worse imho

I think the only way it might make a difference is if a driver goes up to a door where there are students living in some measlet residence who probably barely scraped up enough for the pizza might not expect a tip or a small one but it hurts more if the driver goes up to a home where there are cars and they obviously have a lot of cash and could afford a tip, you know they are stiffing on purpose.

It is just the same. The race, age, weight, or gender of the person who didn't tip does not matter. Those pizza people need their tips to pay for gas, insurance, and the wear and tear on the car plus all the normal stuff that people need moeny for.

same. i really don't think the driver cares whether the person at the door is fat or thin. he took the time to deliver the pizza to the door, the least they could do is tip...
btw, i delivered pizzas when i was a teenager. neither tipped any better or any worse but it was usually the really nice houses that didn't tip at all.

Why would it be any worse? Personally we never tip because they add on a delivery charge around here.

It doesn't matter what size you are. Not tipping someone is just rude. Most of these people depend on tips to make a living.
