Okay, let me break it down here. Magic is slight-of-hand, prestidigitation, illusion, mirrors, tricks. Skilled, mind you, but purely based in manipulating physical energy (solid form) and the psychology of the viewers.

On the other hand magick (spelled that way to differentiate it from the above) is the manipulation of non-physical energy. And oh, yes, it's very real. Can I make something appear out of thin air? No, but I can make people ring on the phone by thinking of them, I can make circumstances align by "chance", I can engage with the "force" and create a desired outcome. What makes it work is a sense of "allowing it to happen". Some might call this belief. Some people use religion and prayer as their vehicles for directing the flow of energy, others call it "spellwork" and use props.

Any time you make a wish, say a prayer, or cast a spell you are doing the exact same thing . . . putting forth your desire toward an intended outcome. The trick is to believe ("anything you ask in my name, believing, . . . " Jesus ) There is NO DIFFERENCE in the creative force, regardless of whether you call it God, Mother Earth, Spirit or the Universe (ad infinitum). And we ALL have equal connection to this creative force, if we will only "allow" it.

depends on your definition of real. In Haiti, Voodoo is the majority religion and very real. The magic works because of the power of belief and no matter how other cultures see it or explain it away, it still works and has a real effect for it's practitioners.

I think in some ways it is. Even if it's just illusions it is still practicing the art of magic.

Yep! Wanna see me make your paycheck disappear? Or the police magically appear? Both are within my power.

Im a pro magician, and i admit, it is not real. but the secret ways we do our illusions and tricks etc. are hidden so well, the tricks seem like they are real magic, but it is really not.

Yes. However it is quite a bit more subtle than waving your magic wand, shouting abracadabra, and making things go "poof".
