recently my USB was infected by worm of I don't know the name specifically, and it continuously creates a "new folder" in each and every folder that I have stored in there including the drive itself in which inside the drive also has a "new folder" in it.
e.g: G:/New Folder
and each time I access that empty new folder my pc slows down and the YIM sends messages to all my contacts of an unknown language. I have deep freeze so it cannot harm my system. only my USB, even though I format it several times the "new folder" kept on creating itself.

i got AVG and avast but both can't detect, after formatting my USB a "new folder" is immediately created without my consent and inside the folder is nothing! not even a single file with a specific extension.

Install a good anti virus, then right-click on the drive letter of the USB pen and scan it.
But your problem may be deeper than just the pen, as most virus are originated from the PC and pass onto the rest.

You would need to be using antivirus fro a reliable vendor (like mcafee, norton, etc)... make sure it is properly configured to scan for PuPs and automatically downloading updates...
then you would simply force an update to ensure you do have the latest virus definition file and perform a scan on the entire computer.. if the USB device is in the USB port then as long as you choose to scan "all drives" it will include the USB device.
You could also attempt a web based scan from http://housecall65.trendmicro.com
Good Luck

There has been a recent Trojan Horse spread over (mostly) the UK. It infects USB pens and makes them useless. My whole school network has been infected and there have been many incidents of un-usable USB pens.
Try to locate it on My Computer and scan it for viruses. Then I would reccomend not using it for another 5 days to a week.

You say USB but what do you mean, your Jumpdrive?
That is a generic term for the connection so you need to be more specific if I can understand your problem. If it is the Jumpdrive you need to wipe it, completely wipe it to 0's and 1's
That will clean it. Formatting isnt quite the same thing as wiping it, find a good software that you can download to wipe it clean.

Hello, are you refering to a 'universal serial bus' port, when you say u.s.b.? or is it yet another device with a conflicting name. The usb port like most i/o ports on a computor are do not contain any information as such and are realy just a way of recieving or sending info to an outside source, ie printer/keyboard/screen etc.

Using the antivirus software, you can use it to target other harddrive.
Get http://www.free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5 and make sure the USB plug in. Scan and remove all virus.
Try scanning your primary harddrive as well. They might be hosting a virus that are waiting to be planted into the USB drive.

ok , try this
if you had any music or file in that usb just copy all of them to your computer , after that right click on your usb and choose "format..." and click "start" (this mean clean all file in your usb)
and i think you need a free virus program keep you safe from internet , go download AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 7.5 in :
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0
after you downloaded that program and install it ,whenever you download a file from internet right click on it and choose "scan with AVG" that will keep you safe
