The 'proper name' of an 'ear doctor' is actually not a 'word' ... the closest word is 'otolaryngologist' which is an 'ear, nose, and throat' specialist. As for finding one, why don't you call the closest UNIVERSITY hospital in your area and tell them where you live, and ask for a 'referral' that is within your ability to get to one.

You need an ENT, an Otologist or a Neuro-otologist - depending on your specific condition. Look each of these up on WebMD or a similar site, then search for the one you need on www.yellowpages.com in your area.
If you have insurance (specifically an HMO) you need to go to your Primary Care doctor first and get him or her to refer you. They will know which one and they will refer you to the ones that take your insurance. Plus, you'll need the referral for your insurance to pay for their portion of the visit for your ear.
