its an 80 year old house well is in basementi can't drill deeper it has to be new, how much for new complete

If you are sure it dried up, it can just be drilled deeper. Or sometimes the bottom will collapse. Either way it can be drilled deeper. That happened to our neighbor's well. Lift the pump just a bit if you are able and see if it pulls water. If so, maybe the bottom has collapsed. My husband just helped the neighbor pull the pump, but a new foot valve on, and shortened the pipe. That was about 20 years ago, and they still use the well.

it may also be dry because of the lack of rain here in new jersey. almost all my grass is brown because of the lack of rain. i think they charge by the foot because they never know how deep they'll have to drill.

what makes you think the well dried up, rather than a problem with the pump or tank or other well head apparatus?
