Now I understand one individual doesn't represent the majority (hence I'm a Democrat) but today I was talking to someone who claimed to be a Conservative, and he said he was fine with abortion as long as Liberal's babies were aborted. As people who stand for freedom and liberty, does this bother you?

Oh, and I didn't react. I just thought about it for the rest of the day.

I don't know how the conversation went, but I would like to believe he was being sarcastic. Abortion of a baby that has not yet drawn a breath of fresh air, little lone had the opportunity to chose a political party is wrong, and assigning it a political party would be as bad as the abortion. An individual right to life, and an individual right to political freedom should not be dependent on the other. So I think he was being sarcastic and if not, then his logic is misplaced.

A bit extream but he has a right to his opinion. Did you forget the two things one does not debate, Religion and Politics. We are also a people of law and somethings are wrong even if one finds a way around them. Does freedom and liberty have anything to do with abortion? Peace

I got better things to worry about a half baked comment from a conversation between 2 people I don't know.... so no, I am not bothered in the least. Come back when someone who I actually know (and has some power) and I'll consider whether or not it is worth my time.

The statement was crude. But the fact remains that millions upon millions of babies have been butchered since 1973 and THAT doesn't seem to bother you Democrats.

Please do not link conservative/liberalism with Democrat or Republican. Republicans want to keep all the money and tell everyone else what they should do. They want to keep everyone else in a position of servitude and slavery.

Conservatism is a term used to describe political philosophies that favor tradition and gradual change, where tradition refers to religious, cultural, or nationally defined beliefs and customs.

Liberalism refers to a broad array of related ideas and theories of government that consider individual liberty to be the most important political goal.

Do you want to give up all of your individual freedoms, work two jobs, and in short be a slave to big business?

That's hate speech and pretty sad, since you've asked. I've learned not to let that kind of stuff get to me and simply ignore it.

Heck, there is one person on this site (and probably more), who has openly written that he hates me. I certainly didn't take it to heart considering the source and don't believe that all libs are that nasty, nor do I lose any sleep over it. Just don't let people get to you or take things to heart. People tend to spout off in these forums. Easy to do when you're shielded by the Internet. :)

All abortion bothers me, we are talking about an innoncent life being murdered.
That is not liberal, conservative, republican, democrat or anything else, just reality. I hope more people recognize that.

It's a rather ludicrous statement.

(getting up on soapbox)

Abortion should be voted on and regulated at the state level, it should never have been legislated from the SCOTUS.

I never had a say in the matter, and in this country that's wrong.

That is bothersome.....and saying it was just to piss you off is no excuse either..being crass and vulgar is never appropriate.

Pro-choice or Pro-life...abortion should never be the source of any jokes...

A "shock jock" radio host once said ...."We should take all the aborted fetuses and fill up all the pot holes in NYC...

I did not find that humorous either.

No, in answer to your question.

I am a very conservative Conservative, and I don't give a rat's-*** damn about abortion one way or another or who's doing it.

You democrats seem to think all Conservatives are bible-thumpers.
