Magic is for entertainment of others by Magicians who make their living by using mechanical means to fool the senses of an audience. They train, and they buy ready made magic tricks at commercial magic stores.

I very much doubt Criss Angel performs real magic. he is an illusionist like Harry Houdini and David Copperfield. People cannot fly, but the job of the illusionist is to convince people otherwise. He's very good at his profession.
Real magic is often rather boring: finding lost objects, granting strength to the sick, help in correcting personal flaws, insight into situations, and so forth. A real magician wouldn't perform on stage, for two reasons. First, it would be a very boring show. Second, the goal of the magician is generally not to gain fame or noteriety. (Aliester Crowley is the only person I can think of who sought attention that I would actually consider a real worker of magic, but even he wouldn't be caught dead performing on stage.)
Some people have an aptitude for magic, but anyone can learn it. It takes time, patience, practice and discipline. Anything more specific would be path specific: a witch practices quite differently from a ceremonial magician, for example.

Magic/Witchcraft is baiscly the manipulation of the energy around you. It rrequires intent, focus, and concentration. You don't have to be "born into magic" as I belive that we all have this ability within us. If you are interested in magic I would start by doing some meditations. Get used to your energy and the energy around you. Criss Angel is a stage magician/allusionist. If that's more of what you are into then I'm sure you can find classes/sites that will answer your questions regarding this stage magic. True magic is not so "spectacular" but is none the less beautiful. It's mainly used to effect a change in the self. Say you do a spell to help you get a job. You perfom the spell which gives you the confidence you need to do well in the interview and lets you stand out to the interviewer which results in you getting the job. Don't take my word for it though, I would do some reasearch for yourself.

First of all, "Magic", whatever that means, is natural. It's all a matter of science and physics, and the performance magic is just a matter of the performer knowing something that the audience does not.
For example, let's say I took a box of ordinary wooden matches deep into the jungle and found a tribe that had been lost to civilization. I might be regarded as a Wizard for being able to cause a stick to burn at my command. (I might also be regarded as "lunch" when I ran out of matches, but hey, fame is fleeting.) To use those matches to amaze people in New York City, I'd probably have to work out a way to pull one out of my nose already lit.
Card tricks often depend on card control, or a deck that is fixed in some way. Many illusionists use light to fool the eye, that's how they make airplanes and elephants disappear. Sometimes it's just distraction, having you focus on one hand, while the trick is really done with the other (many politicians use this principle). Other times, they simply lie to you, showing you what they claim is an ordinary top hat, but it's really a special one with a hidden compartment for storing rabbits.
Performance magic is about managing the perception and expectation of the audience, and keeping them under control until the performer is ready to show them the surprise. Sort of like marriage and dating rituals in the US.
No one is born knowing it, but anyone that wants to can learn it. There are books on basic tricks involving coins and cards. I would bet you that Criss Angel started his career with either coins or cards, because no matter what props they use, the audience control remains the common element in all magic tricks.
And, yes, the beginner tricks are lame and easy to figure out, but once you can make a coin disappear into your hand, you can pull this trick on friends who might well KNOW how you do it, but still can't see it coming.
If it interests you, have fun with it.

To the fullest extent, this is a mastery of illusion. Modern magicians and illusionists use a very complex science that allows them to do many things that elude the senses. As in the movie "The Prestige" much of what they do is slight of hand, fast movements, or other such tricks that fool the mind into believing what it is seeing. Much of what we call magic is just advancements in science. As long as the mind wants to be fooled during a magic performance, it will be. I too am not saying that there are not events that cannot be explained by science, but that is why it is always fun to enjoy a good magic show. The unexplained is what keeps us coming back. A magician never reveals his secrets...

Welcome to the world of illusion. It's not magic, just illusions. Criss Angel is pretty good at it, but it's not actually magic. To be good at anything that's hard to do -- like being a pro athlete or a singer, for instance, you have to have some talent for it and then practice a ton. There's no single secret that makes it easy.
Based on your question, it sounds like you're perfectly willing to believe that magic is real and a god is somehow helping. Most stage magicians would readily admit this is not true, except hoax artists like Uri Geller and Sylvia Browne.

I have seen some weird things, people that can float, I guy driving a spike through his hand and leaving no marks, a guy sallow string off my string and then pull it out a hole on the side of his stomach...but its not real magic. Its driven by science. There are things we dont' see and don't know. Houdini for example had cuts and calluses on his body when he hid paperclips, lockpicks, keys to help him escape his bonds. I'm not trying to knock your belief in the supernatural there are things we will never understand, but what you're looking at as magic, are just very clever modern magicians.

Becoming a good magician takes years of practice and lots and lots of discipline. if you want to learn how to perform illusions your gonna have to dedicate all of your free time to practicing tricks and learning the art of mind and body control. Good Luck.
