Do you guys know any musicians (excluding classical composers) that you feel truly makes music as art? I have thought about this a lot, and so far I can only come up with Radiohead, Bjork, Elliott Smith and Sigur Ros. Who do you think makes the difference between just cool music and music as a work of art?

Maybe you're too young? The Beatles, Queen, some other older artists. Have you even heard Bohemian Rhapsody? It's pure art.

What makes the music art is the people who listen to it and consider it as such.

Incubus, Tool.....you'd REALLY have to see the live show, Dream Theater....those are a few of the better VISUALLY endusive bands I can think of.
