The best way to stop a good offense is to not let them have the ball. Take the ball and use up as much time as possible. They can't hurt you if they can't play.

Motivate your MLB because he is the key to the
4-3 defense. Tell your linebacking core to watch out on sweep and toss plays. Is the HB an agile, a power, or an all round back? Your DBs have to stay low and not try to make interceptions. Especially safeties should not jump the route. The d-line is supposed to focus more on the run then on the pass, the line backers should not have to worry about the run they should take up theMand force the QB to pass into tight coverage. One important factor, do not blitz or in any way attempt to sack the QB. Make the QB hold onto the ball and let your D-Line have the sack. Rmember one thing. For the 4-3 to work your MLB and D line should have a good day.

Stack the line to stop the run. Bring pressure with lots of blitzing stunts to pressure the QB. Clog the middle and dare the QB to go long. If you bring lots of pressure up front, the QB won't have time to let his receivers get downfield.
Against a poor defense (assuming you have a quality offense), score early and often. Never let your foot off of the throttle. If you get a good lead (by 17 or more points), work long drives to eat up the clock and keep their offense off the field (work the middle and avoid going out of bounds).
And, above all, hang onto the ball. Turnovers can kill the best team against the worst team. No turnovers usually means a win (or at least in the game).

Stop the run. Keep a bunch of guys in the box, make your DE's contain everything inside. Make the QB throw the ball. If the WRs are bad, you'll get some interceptions, plus with all your guys in the box you're going to make him throw passes before he wants to. As for offensively, run the ball. Keep the clock ticking, keep their offense off the field.

By all means, you must get your defense into their backfield quickly to disrupt their timing and blocking schemes.
Play man-to-man on receivers and mix up blitzers coming from all areas of the field - sometimes using one or two of your 3 LBs and other times bringing a CB or a Safety with emphasis to "bird dog" the better players.
You must gamble on nearly every play. Trying to play head-to-head or using a prevent defense against a talented backfield will guarantee your losing by a large margin. You still might lose badly but even so your team would probably hold their heads higher after hussling for all their worth.

ball control. Play Cowher ball, power running against a poor defense and commit to stopping the run. only leave one safety to help the corners then run blits at least 50% of the time. If they like to run sweeps then occasionally blits your most sure tackling corner. The longer you offense has the ball the shorter the time for the opposing offense to make big plays. the west coast offense when run efficiently is also perfect for this situation.

Ummm u need a very spread out D, prolly zone plays, I recommend the Dime set. This is soo spread out length wise a u cud do a man D here also. If they dont have good WR's this works well to, because the safety's are far up.
Offensively do anything, heck if they are bad do hail mary's all day.

Switch to a 3-4 and blitz your outside linebackers. Just take your fastest D-Lineman and move him to weak side LB and blitz him.

Well if those guys are good and going up against a poor defence it will be hard. Maybe a sniper in the stands would help.

The best D is a good O...Spread offense and make them stop YOU...since their D is suspect, you should be able to have mismatches on offense...
