There's a salary survey from 2006 here: http://gamecareerguide.com/features/266/index.php?cid=GCG06_ENDEX3 Average salary depends a lot on the branch of development (design, programming, art, level building, production, quality assurance, etc), location of the studio (higher cost of living means higher salaries), and number of years in the industry. Overall the salaries are generally comfortable to live on, but not amazing.

Depends on what part of game development you're involved in. The computer programmers do better than the concept art guys... If you're an art guy who understands how the game engines (like Unreal) work, you'll make more than someone who is only an expert in Photoshop...
But to answer your question $70,000.
