I say mussina ....... I know he hasnt had the best year well it's been horible at times but the last 3 starts have ben pretty solid ...... and Wang on just 4 days rest he's a 5 day rest man has been all year he is great on 5 days, not so on 4 or 7 idk why ........ hell this is crazy highest paid franchise of all sports and we cant have 5 atlest 4 good starters ....... we can't expect our lineup to average 6 runs a game it won't happen against Schiling, and Becket or Sabathia ...... if we evan get to face them this year again. hmmmm we have been getting it handed to us by Cleveland and there rookie postseason players :-(. please comment on what u think.

Bad idea on such short rest. Most pitchers don't fair well with a short rest. They should start Mussina. He has been up and down but it rested. He is doesn't do well, they could always pull him.

It is the right move, Wang is the best pitcher on the Yankees and there is no tomorrow if they lose. A pitcher can pitch on three days rest without a problem once in a while, just not all season long. The objective is to get to game 5 and then figure out what to do next.

If they start Wang the score will be 9-5 Indians.
If they start Mussina the score will be 7-5 Indians.
Wang got pounded in Game 1 and the Indians figured him out.

I wouldn't be surprised if they used Wang AND Mussina since Torre foolishly used up the best of his bullpen in last night's blowout. Don't think it matters who starts because I will be surprised if either could make it through the 5th inning.
Don't worry about the next series. The media has it all covered. If the Yanks lose they will say their pitching was taxed. If the Sox lose they will say their players had too much time off between series. We've all seen it go either way.

Wang is there ace and he might pull it off tonight because the yanks woke up. I hope the Indians can put the yanks out tonight because if it goes to 5 I see the yanks winning it. prediction Indians win a close one 4-3 or Wang pitches a gem Yanks win 6-2.

Mussina never comes up big in big games. I don't care that he pitched two good games in September - he sucked again in his last one.
Wang's sinker wasn't sinking last game - that won't happen again. He pitches much better in Yankee Stadium than on the road. I think he wins tonight with a classic Wang performance.

I say Wang, definitely. He is a sinker ball pitcher and usually these type of pitchers do better when they are not too rested. And, he is the best the Yanks have.....there is no tomorrow unless they win tonight.

Well this might be the last game of yankees season, as well as Torres job. Wang does have tendancy to miss that strike zone quite a bit... I would put in a more experienced pitcher, knowing it could be the final game! Great Question!
