I think that most people are confused by the Amish. They may think that these area just country bumpkins that are stuck in the year 1799. Not quite. And then when you pile on their incredible spirit of forgiveness last year during the school massacre. It confuses the public even more.

But I wonder, would the stress of life just be so much less if I was available 24X7? Would stress of life be less if I didn't have to fill up the 24 gallon tank every 8 days?

Now I disagree with them spiritually, because they choose to hide from society instead of being a part of it, and being a positive influence on the world. I believe in making an impact and sharing the gospel, and I don't know of any people lately choosing to give up the XBOX for a buggy and a barn.

I think so. I don't think many have a thorough knowledge of Amish culture because there is not much information available on it. I admit, I have always been fascinated by Amish. At the same time, I really do not know much about them even though I do want to find out more. I think they probably won't like the outsiders to get much interested in their lifestyle though.

I don't think many people do. Amish people are rarely looked upon by people or the media. I think the only people who really understand are the actual Amish people or someone who knows or is related to one.

Probably not. Unless you live like the Amish or know someone close to you, you are unlikely to understand their culture.

I think most people have a general knowledge of some of their culture, but do not understand all of what or why they maintain that lifestyle.

I'd say no. We know about them and their culture but we do not UNDERSTAND it. Like, we don't UNDERSTAND how they can live without electricity and without money and how they can trade and why they marry young and etc etc etc. We know about them but don't truly understand them.

I would like to think I do.

Sometime I wonder how my families life would be if we lived the way they do.
