Zombie. And he'd be in a musical based on Michael Jackson's "Thriller".

If you define ghost as the the surviving soul or spirit of a person then he could not become a ghost. Shelly's point was to show that life without a soul would be a monster and that while God could provide a soul science could not.
Frankenstein's monster was already a zombie (albeit a many persons one) so when he died he simply ceased to exist and that is what many people find the most terrifying.

He's already a zombie because he reanimated from the dead and with other peoples parts. I don't think he could be a ghost because he would have the spirits of the dead besides his own spirit and would be like the 13 ghosts in one body. Instead of in a house. There was a movie in which frankenstein was trapped in cave and was frozen and all they did was thaw him out and he woke right up. I think he would be another corpse donated to medical colleges to be autopsied. Depending on how you look at he might qualify as a zombies ghost.
Hope this helps
Good Luck with it

Once you activate all the parts they take on the energy of the brain they are a part of and there for when the lights go out he would be nothing until they were energized again that is why he never dies. but if you tore his body apart (never happened in any of the movies) he would die and go to nothing he had no soul or spirit for the ghost part and nothing left for the zombie part.

Doctor Frankenstein was a God Fearing man who tried to be a God by creating a human being out of the collected parts of the dead. Doctor Frankenstein's Monster had no name and was already somewhat of a zombie. The Monster's consciousness had to be that of a dead soul.
So many people get caught in that name reversal. I wonder why, sometimes.

Frankenstein was the scientest who created the monster. I think he would just die. If you're talking about the monster, I don't think he could be a ghost since he wouldn't have a spirit.

In the original book, he was nearly indestructible. His manufactured body was tougher and stronger than anyone else.
I believe he was depicted as having intelligence and a soul therefore he might have had a ghost.
