As a American Leaguer - yes. A DH is not real baseball. He doesnt field. He is usually just some fat guy who cant run but can hit homers. (David Ortiz, Jason Giambi)

Yes. It has become a place for poor fielders and aging players who can hit fairly well keep playing. Only those on the field playing should be in the line up. If these players want to play, they should become bench players or take a spot on the field. Let management decide how much of a liability they are. I also think the baseball hall of fame should vote the DH as an actual position since it does exist. Why do American League pitchers get voted in if they don't bat and DH players don't because their not on the field?

It promotes long ball and big innings. Basically it takes stratagy out of the game. An AL manager can leave a pitcher in all game in close game if they are losing. In the NL this would never happen. Sooner or later the manager will need to pull the pitcher for some offense. The question then becomes when do you take him out. Another tidbit of this is the bullpen. You dont wanna bring in a innings guy when he'll be batting next, hence the double switch. Also the DH decrease stolen bases and sacrifice bunts. Both greatly under rated stats. The DH should be taken away because it takes away stratgy from the game.

The DH is just a lame excuse for the best hitting who stinks at fielding. Pitcher should have to bat.

Do baseball fans love anything more than to debate hypothetical situations? Hypothetically, if the DH was gone then the leagues would have a lot of other changes to make based on its removal. This would cause a whole new set of "should the?"s, and "what if?"s and general complaints to be considered. thus making baseball fans happier! So sure, do it, why not?

I say no for one reason, before the DH, pitchers that were not on there game would get thrown at and recieve potential career ending injuries,
the dh was set up so that pitchers that can actually swing the bat can have a league were they can hit and vice versa,

Yep, should definitely be done away with. In the National League, we utilize our guys on both sides. If you pitch, you bat. It's only fair the American League plays the same kind of ball.

Get rid of the DH.If you can't field a baseball you shouldn't be allow to hit one.
David Ortiz,Edgar Martinez,Frank Thomas get to bat 4 times a game, the rest of the time is spent sitting on their azz watching the game
