Gosh.....it was YEARS ago but it was one of those drink these shakes for 2 meals and eat one things. Ended up extreemly ill. I mean seriously ill. Did some job with my blood sugar etc. Took a long time recovering and about a year later they took it off the market because of so many deaths. Bad.

Did the strict calorie counting thing......took legal and illegal diet aids.....bad news.

Best thing I ever did was simply listen to my body. Everything was ok. I just knew If I splurged on a weekend.....I'd maybe fast a day or just make a consious effort to eat less. I lost over 100 lbs. kept it off too....except for pregnancys....for all my adult life....till menopause. Now I don't know what the heck is going on. I weighed 102 lbs at 48.....after 2 kids...never went beyond a size 5....most of the time a size 0 to 3. Went through menopause.......Then bam.....pork city overnight. Don't eat anything different.....everything that used to work doesn't. Even where I gained the weight is totally different than it was before.

Really does a number on ya. I look in the mirror and it's "who is this person"?? Never had boobs....now I do.....always had a small waist and no stomach unless I was pregnant.....now I do. First place I would gain weight is my hips.....now it's not. Talk about body image shock. I thought pregnancy was bad......atleast there was a reason. This? Blew me away. I used to joke since I never had boobs....well baby...one thing for sure....atleast I won't have droopy boobs when I get old because there isn't enough to droop. LOL When I was breast feeding my husband at the time was concerned and asked the Dr. if I wasn't risking starving the child to death. Now...forget it....got knockers for the first time and I don't know how to deal with them! All I got from the Dr. is a smile and welcome to the post menopausal era. I haven't seen it as so humerous or taken it so light heartedly. I get "talks" on accepting the aging process. You just don't put on 50 lbs in such a short time and "accept" it. Seems the more I try...the more weight I gain. Got all the thyroid test and all that. So.....I am LOST right now on advice in the aging diet segment.

I think it would have to be the "Grapefruit Diet"..in 1965. I lost 10 lbs. in a little over a week...or 2 weeks...but it felt like it was eating a hole in my stomach!!!
OH..BEST was low carb/high protein. I lost 50lbs in 5 months..but the first 25 came SO FAST..like a lb. a day. Then I went into a DEEP depression and had to gain back 10 lbs...Then I felt ok and kept it off pretty good. THEN..I started taking medicine and gained 90!! Today I went to the dr. and had lost 4lb..not trying. I think Y/A gets the honors. I don't usually eat when I'm on here..which is a lot at night. Thank you Y/A friends!!!! lol

The worst for me was the grapefruit diet too. It kept making my mouth sore and you can only eat so much of it.

The best was when I was a manager at a high protein/low carb diet center. I lost weight and felt great. I have a lot of allergies to vegetables now, so I gave up dieting. Now I drink more water, eat smaller portions, and exercise. Though it's been so hot this summer, I've not kept up the exercise like I did. Hope to get back to it soon.

Body for Life by Bill Phillips I guess I'm steeewwwpppid. I did not understand the concept, the premise of the food diet. He claimed it was not on rocket science levels. but that vague talk I did not understand. Now with the ABS DIET, Zinczencko explains the foods allowed and why. /Jerome

The best healthy eating plan for me was the Atkin's Diet. I got a physical & my doctor's blessing to go on the AD. I followed it to a T & lost 130 lbs. in just under a year. I have kept it off & want to lose a little bit more. I had two surgeries after my big weight loss & both doctors said my quick recovery was a direct result of my weight loss, thus being so much healthier. I was never a water drinker but I am now, thanks to the AD. What a difference that has made. :)
