Because we often mis-identify what we REALLY want. Some examples might be; "I want a new car" when what we really want is recognition. If that's the case, then a new car won't give you that for long.
Or you might say "I work out everyday to have a perfect body" which could really be "I want to like myself, or be attractive to others" which again, may bring temporary fulfillment, but it's not what you REALLY want. And when we don't get what we really want, and we are disappointed because we did not get the fulfillment we craved, it seems we have even less than when we started. Make sense? It's a little oversimplified, but hey, I'm not a genius like Norman Einstein. : ) peace

Choices do not bring you less, the merely limit the more you get until you can handle the more you have and hopefully achieve the more you want.
Man in many sakes wants to be a God but if for argument sake a man could be a God overnight could he handle the infinite burdens that go with the infinite possibilities that are now that man alone.
I can see the infinite largeness and the infinite smallness in life, or at least I hope I can and I would not like to see a single beautiful flower destroyed for a field of wild roses. They are equally as lovely to me.
To put it simply, I don't see those choices as bringing me less, just bringing me things in my own time, at a pace I can truly appreciate them.

Hi Lucky, I had to give this question some thought before I answered, many of your questions have that effect on me. We say we want more, then we chase it, but I am not so sure we really can know what we really want. That old saying, "Be careful what you pray for, you just might get it!" certainly applies most of the time. Many times I have sought after the thing of my desire to find it really was not what I wanted but some grand illusion I really chased. I think there is within us all a hunger for something undefined by most, & the tendency is to see the next wonderful person or thing & think it is what will finally save us & fill our hunger pains, to one more time find that we were in error. All choices come with consequences, some good, some restricting, it is the nature of living in this world. As for me, it took me years to learn that I can choose again at anytime. Thanks. (((HUG)))

I don't need to say anything. HE knows everything that I need better than I do.
