Okay, actually not so much interesting as insane.
Guy below me, I've never really known what you are, but I'll buy you a longer shirt if you want.

The ACLU only dislikes and goes against christian religions and they are very liberal. Christians are in both parties and are for everybody. The far right does get a little carried away but we are aware of that and cut them some slack. The history of our nation shows we were built upon Jedio-Christian beliefs and those in the middle want that to continue. Personally I feel most are traditionalist and not really liberal or conservative.Peace

Unfortunately the moral enforcement ideas of the church are becoming linked with the neocons (very few people anywhere have problems with true conservatives).
I have no problem with the church, but I do have a problem with anyone who tries to force anything on me. That goes for some religious people and all neocons.

Matt W, the question has been answered. Libs have no problem with the church, we just value our freedom. Faith is no problem, its when we're forced to live by rules we dont agree with because one denomination says so. The reason it is so frequently Christianity having the problems with libs is because theyre in the best position to force their 'morals' and ideas on the rest of the country. It is done regularly and theyre trying to increase it constantly. Christians are fine, but assaults on our freedom will not be tolerated even if theyre done under the guise of religion.

Whatever. I'm a member of my Lutheran church's board and although I'm a conservative Democrat, there are those who call me a Communist -- albeit with a smile.
Just as I believe there should be no religion where politics are concerned, so too I believe that when people gather in our Father's name, it is the similarities with others that we must see, not the differences.
I don't care about others' religion, or lack of one. Respect yourself and respect others. The rest will take care of itself.

if you think discussion on Y! is little more than whining then why are you here? in this question, aren't you simply whining about other peoples whining? why is your whining justified and everyone elses not?
i think your efforts might be better spent with midgets and clowns. join the circus.

Sad that nearly every liberal who chose to respond ignored the question that was posed and instead attacked the questioner. It is a good question and I would be very interested in liberals who could pocket their feelings long enuf to answer the question. Is it faith (specifically the Christian faith) that gets their knickers in a knot, rather than conservative principles? This isn't about the war, or Bush, or any policy question per se, it is about faith. Stop ranting and answer the question.

No, most liberals I know are as religious as any conservative. Where you get that idea is probably from some liar on conservative hate radio.

I have an issue with both.
The Church which is controlled by Racist Conservatives, who wants to give you a perverted version of Christianity. They insist that Christ is white, but evidence proves otherwise.
They care about the baby while it is in the womb, but care nothing about the child after it is born, case in point the S-Chip program vetoed by Bush.
The Church has sold out to Bush in order to receive faith based initiatives. The Church should stay out of politics, but we see that they are heavily engrossed in politics, and have forgotten its true purpose.

You couldn't be more wrong.
It isn't the church or rich people we have a problem with, it's weak-minded simpletons, liars, cheaters, hypocrites and thieves. That pretty much sums up all republicans and 95% of church goers.

It's not the church, it's the people who generalize and say things like "its the CHURCH you Libs have a problem with, not conservatives".
Not all libs are alike, anymore than all republicans are alike.
