How do I fix a zipper on my pants?

my pants zipper seperated. Is there any way i can fix it?

Try this: remove the bottom metal catch at the bottom of the teeth...try a staple remover or needle nose pliers. Once separate, realign the teeth and pull up and down (obviously not all the way) until everthing is realigned and then take needle and thread and recreate the metal catch back down at the bottom by sewing back and forth several times.

Never lasted when i tried to fix, better off putting a new one in, drycleaners that have seamstresses don't charge too much.
