I was recently telling somebody about a problem I was having and they had the nerve to tell me that I bought it on to myself because of my "lack of faith in God."

Then people on here always insist on sending religious videos and all this talk about faith, higher powers, etc..etc.

Before you start calling me an atheist or a non-believer I want to make it clear that I do believe in a higher power I call God..
however, I don't see how He is going to put a hand over my head & make me feel better or cure me of anything.

My question is why do people have to bring religion into everything..?
or that if a person has a problem then only faith can help them. ?

??..Opinions..??

Religon.....Well, people bring religon in cause everyone has their own beliefs, so they figure that by bringing religon to you, you will just keep your problems to yourself.
People only think faith can heal them because thats how they see everything.
"You've been promoted!" "Thanks God!" Wait a minute....god didn't promote you, you worked hard, the employer saw it, and then did the right thing.
People want to give a GOD all the credit, when really we humans are not as helpless as everyone wants us to be.We can work, learn, live, fix, destroy, create......God can help, but we humans do work too! People want to let their god get credit to get to their holy land. SO, give all the credit and cures to god, you're sure to make it to heaven!........Right.

To some people, religion brings comfort. And that's okay. I have no problem with that. But then there are those who think they are better than anyone else who doesn't believe in their particular faith. It is annoying as hell.

A few months ago, I decided to label myself as an Atheist. Yes, I hate labels, but then I also dislike ambiguity. And I tell that to those peeps who hand me their religious propaganda...

Oh, but I know what you mean. Sometimes I feel like their God is punishing me 'cause I don't believe in him. Ah!

Because some people *cough* mad christians * cough* are brainwashed to believe that if they don't obey their God they will get smited or something so they think if they force others to believe their religion and to think that their opinion is right, they'll be loved by God and go to heaven.

I believe in a higher power and powers as well but I deftinitely do not force people into what I believe because that is immature.

the reason on your question is that No faith is obeying each and all of the Bible anymore. Like in Matthew 5 Rabbi Jesus tells us that he's not right here to commence a sparkling faith, yet to restoration the Jewish one... and we are to obey each and all of the Commandments, this is ALL 613 of them plus the recent ones he additionally taught. In Acts the Christians met interior the Synagogues "interior the evenings" on the Sabbath (Saturday)... In 305/6 A.D there have been 29 adult men that did not like countless of the attempt it takes to be a actual Christian; so as that they went and made their new, lazier faith and named it "Catholic".... approximately 500 years in the past with the discovery of the Printing Press, people could see the Catholic church replaced into not doing, coaching what the Bible dose tell, require persons. So some new extra maximum suitable religions got here out then. because of the fact then a lot of different religions have become, frequently doing much less and much less, than those previously it. sometimes people have only dreamed religions up of what they like. Like I observed a small privet one as quickly as and checked it out. they had the Bible; yet additionally stated "if we don't trust the Bible, then we are good.". this is so incorrect of them!... "Nelson's Guild To Denominations" describes each and every Christian faith there is. The religions that are obeying the Bible the closest are "Messianic Judaism" and "seventh Day Adventists". pay attention of ones with comparable names, for they are diverse, extra disobedient. the those that are obeying the Bible the closest are one "self reliant"; that are doing all they'd to obey each and all of the Bible. no one would nicely be suited, different than for Jesus.

Falling back on religion is an easy answer. All you have to do is say, "Talk to God...Ask God...Think about what God would do..." It really just feels like the person who says these things don't have time to help you out with a problem, so they use God as a scapegoat. I feel your pain!!

Live a clean life and you don't need any religion,
those try to get you hooked to their faith are either those who have been down and out and this is their focus. Otherwise the big church is a big business

I agree with you. Keep your religion to yourself. I always tell ppl that I have a seat reserved next to the devil. That usually shuts them up. If that doesn't work, I just start talking about voodoo and scarifying an animal. They just give me a look, but it shuts them up. Not that I believe in that stuff, but to each their own. I wish people would keep religion and politics to them self.

people shouldn't really tell someone to believe, they have to let the person find it for themselves. No matter if someone believes or not, telling someone to do religious stuff won't change the things that are happening and make things better.

ok, now i see you as a superior being... no offense, but since you believe in a higher power, what do you expect him/her to do? NOT to help you?! higher powers SHOULD exist to help us! if not, what else are they for?
and i don't believe there is a specific answer to your question. people bring religion into everything because that's what they want to do. you believe that we don't have to bring religion into everything, because that's what you believe! now what?
