I support the TROOPS that have to go and fight these wars, but I personally am against war. Yeah there are times when people's "freedom" was "won"...but after all is said and done...who really "wins" a war? Everyone loses. Thousands of families hearts are aching, and the U.S. government treats war vets like Sh*t...I may be a little extreme because I work with homless war vets...they're still in a lot of pain...long after those past wars. It's rediculous.

I think in terms of its deeper philosophical implications; yes it is true. Even at its best war is still nothing more than a testament to mankind's destructive nature and willingness to impose oneself over another, usually defeating or being defeated by another mans attempts to keep his independence from that will of imposition and forced subjugation.
However, in terms of a practical matter war may not be good, but on occasion can be legitimately viewed as necessary.

Sometimes there is no other choice but to go to war. It should of course be used as a last resort. When something is truly important and the potential enemy is being very unreasonable, then it could be time to start fighting.

I believe in many occasions, war is the inevitable. Also, in many cases, a war can be senseless. It really depends on the situation and the occurrence. A war fought to end tyranny, dictatorship, progress freedoms, or to better the people and country are necessary battles. However, our current war on terror is a definite mis-guided tactic.

Nope it is a great song but not true. Unfortunately we dont live in utopia, we live in the real world and sometimes the only way to make the world safer is through war. Not everyone is rational and can be talked, they only respond to an a$$whooping.

War is a means to an end. If that end is to thwart evil, then that is what war is good for.

Of course not. From the left, however, you will get an entirely different answer. Of course many of these people are a little vague when it comes to how we should handle an attack on this nation. But this is nothing new.

No, that's just silly. War bought our freedom from the British. War bought the freedom of Europe in WWII.
War is ugly, but sometimes necessary to fight evil in the world.

Oh and if you think it's good for nothing, get you butt out of the US cause that's the way we became a country of our own.

Nope. It's ended fascism, Nazism, slavery, and kept America free from imperialist aggressors on several occasions. And so far, it seems to be keeping America safe from any further terrorist attacks too...which can't be said for other parts of the world.
