Babe Ruth would make an impact on your team more than Cy Young. Cy Young would pitch around 45 games a year and Ruth would play around 150 games a year. That's a huge difference. Also, it's easier to find a good arm on the FA market compared to a good, consistent hitter.

Cy Young played in such a different era than Ruth and than today that it is hard to evaluate him. He had 512 wins which was like 100 more than anyone else ever had so how do you evaluate him?
One concrete way is that in 1935, the first class of the Baseball Hall of Fame was voted in. The voters were people who had seen Ruth AND Young play. They picked Ruth and 4 others in that first class, two of whom were pitchers, and not Cy Young.
So those guys must have thought much more highly of Babe Ruth than of Cy Young.
Once again, Ruth comes out on top of just about any comaparison you can ever make.

Statistically Cy Young was not that great. He won 600 games, and that is awesome, but he lost almost 500. Babe Ruth was a talented player, and regardless of the two hitters who past his record, his HR to AB ratio was significantly higher. Unfortunately we have growp up in the age of sports egos and Gatorade commercials and we have forgotten how great the great ones really were. Babe Ruth is still the best to ever hold a bat, and I would take him over anyone in the game's history. (Besides perhaps Pujols)

You're kidding, right? Cy Young was a good-hitting pitcher, Babe Ruth was the best lefthanded pitcher of the 1910s and the greatest hitter of all time.

Babe Ruth. Cy Young was not even the greatest pitcher of all time... that would be Walter Johnson.

Babe Ruth, without a doubt. Not only was he a great hitter, he was one of the best pitchers before changing to the outfield. And he hit 714 home runs in only 8000+ at bats, while Aaron needed over 12,000 and Bonds over 9,000. In short, the Babe was the greatest ever. Anybody who argues against that fact is just plain mistaken.

I would probably have to take Babe Ruth to be on my team. Statistically, he would be great smashing those 714 home runs of his. I would much rather Babe Ruth to play left field than Moises Alou! He would also be a dominant pitcher taking place of Mike Pelfrey or something. He would be a great help!

I'm sorry, but I don't think I'd want either one. Let's face it, Ruth's been dead since 1948, and Young since 1955. I don't think either one would be much help to my team.
