Why do you have to be rich and have a law degree? This is not very patriotic and Not very fair to US, the REAL AMERICANS

You don't need a law degree. Our current President doesn't have one.
All you need is to meet the consitutional requirements, and enough votes to win.
The Constitutional requirements are minimal - 35 years of age, and natural-born US citizen.
The record shows that men of many economic backgrounds and educational hitories have served as President, and surely many more men and women have run for President.
Most of our previous Presidents, for at least the last 100 years, were not rich, nor were they lawyers, let alone both.
Let's see:
FDR - rich yes, lawyer yes
Truman - rich no, lawyer, no
Eisenhower - rich no, lawyer no
Kennedy - rich yes, lawyer no
Johnson - rich no, lawyer no
Nixon - rich no, lawyer yes
Ford - rich no, lawyer no
Carter - rich no, lawyer no
Reagan - rich no (more then comfortable, yes, but not by as much as you might think), lawyer no
Bush I - rich yes, lawyer no
Clinton - rich no, lawyer yes
Bush II - rich yes, lawyer no
As an aside, I don't think the amount of money each winning candidate ends up raising is relaly all that much in the scheme of things. Let's say, OTTOMH, that the winning candidate in this go-round will raise (and spend) $500 million:
That is a drop in the bucket compared to the Federal budget s/he will be devising and managing. Nothing wrong with voters wanting to know that the candidate can manage that kind of money and lead a team responsible for using it to meet a goal.
Otherwise, it seems like little more then a crapshoot to elect someone without eventhat minimal experience to be the leader of the free world.

What's fair is fair. You can run for president all you want, but you have to tell the 300 million rest of us you are AND get our support. At the least, you should show some experience in politics as well by being either a house member or a governor. You're not required to be rich or have a law degree, but I fail to see how you'd get elected without one.

Anyone who is a native born american and meets the age requirement can run for president, will they be able to compete with the big $$ guys it's doubtful but someone should try one of these days they may get a big surprise.

Who is stopping you from running. I think you have to be 35 but that's about it. Anyone over the age of 35 born in the US can run for President. If you aren't popular enough or enough of a leader to garner a following that's your problem.

Well a law degree is useful..it is not required...but you will definitely need alot of money.
Notice the media, and almost every politician measures a candidates electable potential by how much money they can raise ?....interesting isn't it ?

Without money, you'd better be darn good at getting advertising time, bumper stickers, campaigning trips and billboards for free.
It's not right that it cost so much to even be considered but that's the way it's been for decades.
Remember when you were in elementary school and were told "Anyone can be president"? HA!

you can run for any office you choose and win, but, you have got to get the backing of AIPAC first, that is a sure winner,
just agree to give Israel more welfare and weapons to kill Palestinians with, and you will have it made , same as the rest of our politicians have did, Oh yes you must agree to knock out Iran as they are the only real enemy's Israel has ,

Well, thanks, but I don't want the job. It's hard and pretty thankless if you ask me. Just look at Government Cheese who is still mad at Jimmy Carter....
