The season was too short for my garden this year and my sprouts have not formed. Does anyone know if the cooked leaves taste the same?

The side leaves are not so great but the leaves at the top of the plant are delicious. Often, if you cut off the top leaves the sprouts will start growing.

I like the leaves steamed for about 3 to 5 minutes.

Pretty poor taste. However, do remember that brussel sprouts continue to grow after the first frost and into winter. We have harvested brussel sprouts as late as Thanksgiving. As the little sprouts form, you need to remove the bottom leaves so these sprouts get sun. Continue to remove leaves all the way up the the top 1/3 of the plant. Don't give up yet unless you have no sprout formation.
