Can someone tell me please who I need to contact to report someone that is abusing welfare (ebt/foodstamp) benefits? This individual is still receiving benefits from the state of Missouri, and has been living and also receiving benefits from the state of Tennessee for about four months now at least. Who do I call or contact in order to end this. Have no issue with someone receiving benefits, if truely need them, but have issue with fraudulently obtaining them and abusing the system like this and when they have no desire to do anything to change their situation so not to need assistance anymore- only to continue to live off the system indefinitely. Thanks.

I know the individuals name and DOB, and the area they lived in when in Missouri and the city in which the benefits are being sent in Tenessee, but no exact address. But a complete and acurate name and spelling and a DOB should be enough to go by to look into it- only one individual with that EXACT name and DOB.

Just call the closest welfare off. They will contact the fraud division, and inturn contact Tenn.

You can call the human resources departments of both states and report it to them as fraudulant misuse of the system. You will need the persons name and current address and a phone number if you have it so that they can do the proper research to see what is going on.
Normally you are required to report change of income and change of address within 30 days of a move or change. Also, welfare benefits are usually required to be updated every 6 months.
Just contact each state, give them what you suspect and let them go from there.

This happens all the time. I suggest you call the welfare service office in both states and make a complaint. It might be called a little something different in each state so you'll have to know where to find the right name. (dept. of social services, health and welfare?)
And kudos to you for keeping things honest!

Have you told them that you will report them? I would say that's your first step.
