A friend ran next to the bike and was able to get it started. I have no idea what he did, but it started then and ran fine. Any suggestions?

Okay, your friend bump started the bike, he ran next to it with it in gear, but the clutch in. He then let go of the clutch lever. This stretches the chain a bit.

Is it the engine turning over or the starter motor? You might have dirty spark plugs, a weak battery or maybe you just need a service. Find a nice hill, sit on the bike, let it build,d up a little speed, and hit first without pulling the clutch in. Then go to the bike shop and book a service.

your battery is dead

you get a friend to push you.
turn the key into "ON" position.
Put bike in neutral
get up to 10-12 mph by pushing
pul in the clutch
pop it into 2nd gear
release clutch slooooowly
when u ll hear ur engine start
pull the clitch in and give it little gas...

ta-daa!

good posts yer i say stick battery on charge or get a new battery change the spark plugs. allso when bike does start rev it up see if headlight gets brighter that mean the battery charging or at least trying to.
