As a whole the Cubs are a better team now when compared to other Cubs teams going back many years. It now seems that Cubs management is willing to spend some money and put better teams on the field. They need some pitching help which I believe they will address in the off season and I believe they will come back strong next year and in the years to come. I don't know about 2008 but the Cubs are a team on the rise and I believe they will get to and win a world series in the not to distant future.

I am having a huge 100 anniversary party next year! With their pitching (or lack there of) I do not see them ending this streak anytime soon. Plus they are in limbo because of their present ownership situation. I have complete confidence that next year will be ahnother year down the drain. They have yet to let me down! They blew a 2-0 game lead in a best of five against the Padres in 1984 and a 3-1 lead against the Marlins in 2003 in a best of seven. Remember, the Cubbies have not even BEEN to a World Series since 1945. Certainly one of the most consistent franchises in all of pro sports!! They ALWAYS suck!

NO!!!!!! And I'm rooting for their opponent. I love the Cubs but I hate those fre@king fans. They celebrate way too early, even before the postseason begins. Idiots. I just enjoy watching their dreams get crushed. I feel sorry for the players but it would not be so bad if the fans didn't make it worse for them. Retarded Cubs fans.

No. Probably won't even be in the playoffs. Before people jump on me for saying that face it they got in for winning the NL Central. With only one Wildcard spot it is a lot harder to get in the playoffs. Since the NL Central is likely to be just as wide open next year, maybe harder, I wouldn't pick any team to be a lock in the playoffs. Face it the Wild Card winner isn't likely to come from the NL Central.

Only if they get A-rod, another guy that has like 333 batting average and a better pitcher after Carlos Z. In other words they'll have a lot of work to do.

Really unlikely ... but if I were in Vegas, I'd put $50 down on them winning it just in case. (Imagine the odds you could get on THAT, eh?)
