Take a look at the faces that make up the US Congress. Democratic representatives are mostly white, but have many black, hispanic, asian, and other "races," not to mention a large number of them being women. The Republicans in Congress are almost entirely a color-by-number picture of white, with very few women representatives.
It's a stark contrast when you see them side by side. Not to say that Republicans are "racist," but you don't see very many people other than rich, old, Christian, white males being elected to represent their party.

If you mean does a preponderance of black membership in one party confirm that the other is racist, then yes. Most people have a gut feeling for who works in their best interests. In recent times Republicans have snubbed forums held by NAACP and any other group promoting Civil Rights. They don't even try to get their votes. The "southern strategy" has been the basic racial policy of the Republican party since the Civil Rights Act was passed. It is basically a subtle appeal to racism. Look at how many of the old southern racists have become Republicans.

Far and away the democrat party of today is the racist party and here is my proof.
They would rather keep people, black and white, dependent upon the federal government.
They are hell bent on not allowing kids in school to actually learn reading, writing and arithmetic.
They would rather lower the bar for everything rather than bring the sub-par to a higher level.
Where are the black leaders of the democrat party? Further, how are black democrats in Congress treated by their fellow democrats?
Why is it that the democrat party does not really want equal justice for both white and black. I live in New Orleans and you cannot even begin to know what real racism is. The black democrats in the Attorney General's office here is the most racist guy I have every seen. He allows black murderers to go free while keeping whites who run a stop sign in jail for almost 60 days. And the black democrat leadership here supports this guy. What a joke!
And if black membership is an indication of racism in a political party, then it is clear that the democrat party is racist. It enslaves blacks and prevents them from bettering themselves and becoming the best they can be. What a shame.

The overwhelming majority of Black voters vote for the Democrats. That says something about the Republicans.
As a matter of fact, didn't the Republicans adopt the elephant as their symbol to attract Afro-American voters?
I don't think it worked.

The Republican party freed the slaves. The Democrats wanted to split the Union in two to keep slavery. The Republican party also pushed through voter rights for African Americans and Constitutional Admendments to support it. It was not until President Johnson that the Democrats became for African American voter rights, before that they were pro-Jim Crowe. Woodrow Wilson, the late president, actually segregated Princeton University after he took charge of it.
I would say now neither party is racist. The Democrats just give the most entitlements to the African American community.

I submit that the Democrat Party is decidedly divisive and race is only one of the methods they use to divide America. It is obvious that they have enjoyed the support of African Americans for several decades, yet those same people are reporting that they still are not treated equally. Seems to me that if they want changes made they should seek another approach instead of beating the same dead horse.
The color of the membership does not confirm nor deny racism. There are racist among all races.

I'd say the gop is more bigoted.
they won't go to the hispanic debates,
they won't go to the black debates,
they won't go to the gay debates....
and I'm sure if there was a debate with a female audience they'd skip that one too.
(I know mccain did accept the invite to one of the above mentioned debates, but he was the only one)

Well, the Democrats really love to keep us divided along race and gender lines - see Affirmative Action. The whole reason so many Dems love social programs is because it guarantees them a solid voter base.
I think the fact that this administration has appointed not just one, but TWO blacks to the highest office ever held by blacks proves that Republicans are not racist. But the left refuses to admit that, and takes cheap shots at Powell and Rice instead.

I'll say you, you'll say me. What's the point. When you ask pointed questions that are for no other purpose than to cause conflict...you already know the outcome. In fact, I'd say you welcome it.
Better take a look at the Administration's choices and compare it to others before you start acting all high and mighty.
