I have lived in England, Japan and the Philippines.

I don't know what you mean about more evil in America. Americans can be a bit more noisy and rambunctious that other english-speaking peoples when it come to politics and religion, but I wouldn't say they were more evil.

Let me tell you a true story:

I was in the military working in England. I was on may way home one morning, after working the midnight shift. It was rush hour, and a little foggy. A woman driving a car in front of me must have been distracted, and missed the turn for a roundabout, and ended up int he center of the roundabout. On the way in, she took out a steel signpole anchored in concrete, and caved inthe front of her car about two and a half feet.

Remember, this is rush hour. At least thirty people had to have witnessed this accident. Only three people stopped to render assistance. We were all Americans.

I thought this a little odd. So I asked the bobby who showed up at the accident about it. He said "Oh yeah! Happens all the time! If it wasn't for you Yanks, we would never get any help on the roads!"

So forget about the twisted version of the American innwer cities that you see on TV and in the movies. America is no more violent than any other country and a lot less so than most. Ignore the sensationalism being spread by news shows who don't make money unless everything is a dire emergency.

Ignore the jaundiced view of politics that Americans have. We have the most open political system in the world. Politics usually stinks to high heaven. Other places just hide this stink and let it fester, we choose to broadcast in the hopes of keeping it under control.

Rest assured that if you need help, you have a better chance of a stranger helping you in America than anywhere else in the world.

Well, i sort of know what you mean. I think it is the feeling of people being more materialist in America.I live part-time in Europe and part-time in Vegas. The city of Las Vegas just makes me nervous even when I am not working. It is all about money and going so fast. In Europe people take their time to do things and have real"weekends" where the shops are closed and people do stuff with their family.
I am returning to the states in 2 days so I am also a bit uneasy right now.

Obviously you have not traveled to war-torn countries or countries where poverty prevails.

Perhaps you should just stay away from America.
